Using natural materials means no nasty plastic microfibres are released into the ocean when washed. They have recovered enough plastic to circle the Earth with straws\u00a0<strong>2,700 times<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Plastic Bank projects pay collectors to remove waste from coastal communities in Haiti, the Philippines, Indonesia and Brazil. Their collectors gather plastic waste from streets, households, and informal dump sites, properly disposing of plastic waste before it ends up in the ocean. The plastic is recycled and reborn as Social Plastic to be remade into new products as part of a closed-loop supply chain.<\/p><blockquote><p><em>As well as stopping plastic waste from polluting our oceans, Plastic Bank are a social enterprise building a regenerative society with their ethical recycling ecosystems.
